Wastewater, medical waste, or contaminated liquids can also contain infectious agents. During disposal or cleaning, splashes or aerosols can be generated that transmit pathogens.

Particularly dangerous are diarrheal pathogens or viruses that are spread via the gastrointestinal tract. For this reason, wearing protective clothing and proper disposal are essential.
