MRSA and other multi-resistant pathogens

MRSA stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. These bacteria are resistant to many common antibiotics. Infections occur primarily in hospitals or care facilities.

They can lead to slow-healing wounds, skin infections, or, in severe cases, blood poisoning (sepsis). Proper hand hygiene is the most important protection.
